1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the services provided by H&B Security Centre ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.

2. Services

H&B Security Centre provides security products and services including but not limited to lock installation and repair, access control systems, camera and surveillance systems, alarm system installation and monitoring, intercom systems, and video doorbell installations. All services are subject to availability and an on-site assessment.

3. Service Agreements

H&B Security Centre does not use locked-in contracts. Many alarm companies require 3-year auto-renewing contracts, but we believe you should stay because you want to, not because you're locked in. All services — including alarm monitoring — are provided without long-term contract requirements. Monitoring services may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice. Locksmith, access control, camera, and intercom services are quoted per job with no ongoing commitment.

4. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by H&B Security Centre are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing. Prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes. We reserve the right to adjust pricing for material cost changes that occur after a quote is issued but before acceptance.

5. Payment Terms

Payment for installation and hardware is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Monthly monitoring fees are billed in advance and are due on the first of each month. We accept payment by cheque, electronic transfer, and major credit cards. Overdue accounts may be subject to a late payment charge of 1.5% per month (19.56% per annum) on the outstanding balance.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel monitoring services at any time by providing 30 days' written notice. There are no cancellation fees. For installation services, cancellations must be received in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a trip charge.

7. Warranties

H&B Security Centre warrants that all installation workmanship will be free from defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of installation. Manufacturer warranties on hardware and equipment are passed through to the customer and vary by product. We will assist with any warranty claims on installed equipment. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, negligence, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.

8. Limitation of Liability

H&B Security Centre shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our security products or services. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Security systems are designed to deter and detect but cannot guarantee the prevention of all security incidents.

9. Monitoring Services

Monitoring services are provided through third-party monitoring stations. While H&B Security Centre selects reputable monitoring partners, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted monitoring service. Monitoring may be interrupted due to telephone, internet, cellular, or power outages, equipment failure, or other circumstances beyond our control. We recommend cellular backup communication to minimize such interruptions.

10. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining your security system in good working order, including replacing batteries, ensuring power supply, and testing your system regularly. You must promptly report any system malfunctions or false alarms to H&B Security Centre. You are responsible for any false alarm fees charged by your municipality due to repeated false dispatches.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the H&B Security Centre website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of H&B Security Centre and is protected by Canadian copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.

12. Changes to Terms

H&B Security Centre reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
